Life Stages

Each Life Stage brings its own Challenges

“Man does not simply exist but always decides what his existence will be, what he will become the next moment. By the same token, every human being has the freedom to change at any instant.” ― Viktor Emil Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning

Sometimes people need support while going through life’s stages. Starting with teenage years which are full of discoveries, hopes and dreams about changing the world. This freedom is also accompanied with a strong need to fit in, of understanding their bodies as they become an adult, as well as where they will fit in the world. Later in life these new adults tend to get into serious relationships, get married and have children which can be followed by a series of issues ranging from relationship problems to fertility and parenting.

Around our forties and fifties we will start dealing with loss of friends and parents. The fact is that we are moving into the second part of our lives where death is getting closer. All this brings a series of questions and problems with it too. The famous “mid-life” crisis is where some people can have issues regarding their achievements in life, of things that they can’t do anymore and finally dealing with changes in their bodies, illnesses, menopause etc.

Another related issue that could occur at any stage is the lack of any meaning in your life. Sometimes, when we go through a painful experience, such as when we are unemployed for a long period of time, or after losing a job or losing someone close to you, even a faithful pet,  this may be accompanied by a loss of meaning or purpose.
